Ruth Frank, MD
Dr Ruth Frank is a psychiatrist who specializes in the treatment of women and adolescents with eating disorders. She provides comprehensive and individualized care for her patients, including psychotherapy and/or medication management. Board-certified in Psychiatry and Neurology, as well as in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, Dr Frank incorporates a wide range of therapeutic approaches. Her areas of expertise include eating disorders, adolescents and young adults, and family/parenting coaching. Dr Frank’s practice also focuses on the treatment of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma/PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, attention deficit disorder, and personality disorders. She believes in a highly collaborative approach, which relies on developing a shared vision of intention.
Dr. Frank received her undergraduate degree at the University of Rochester, a Masters in Education at SUNY-Albany, and her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. She practiced as a pediatrician for 14 years before completing her Psychiatry Residency at Thomas Jefferson University. With her distinguished background as a Pediatrician turned Psychiatrist, Dr. Frank brings a unique understanding of the complex bio-psycho-social factors affecting adolescents and young adults, as well as their families. While a practicing pediatrician, she developed Parenting Works!, a parenting skills workshop. She has also provided parenting coaching to individuals and couples. Throughout this time, she has been a spokesperson, speaking to medical providers and mental health workers on topics such as eating disorders, the impact of trauma, and parenting.
